In 1913, a new chapter began with Julius Frederik Schrøder taking over the management. This marked the start of what would become a century-long legacy of the Schrøder family’s association with Gram Slotskro. After Julius’s passing in 1950, his son Harald, along with his wife, continued to run the kro until 1961.
During this period, the couple also managed to oversee operations at Gæstgivergården, renamed “Den Gamle Kro,” establishing a family tradition in hospitality across Gram. From 1961 to 1984, the kro saw various management styles under the ownership of Gram Castle.
1984 was a turning point when Ole and Aase Schrøder, having already managed Den Gamle Kro, took over Gram Slotskro. Their tenure was marked by dedication to both establishments. In 2001, Carsten and Marianne Schrøder, representing the fourth generation of the Schrøder family, assumed ownership, continuing the legacy.
Architectural Heritage
Gram Slotskro is not just a place of hospitality but also a protected historical site. The main kro building, covering an area of 458 square meters, along with the adjacent travel barn, was officially listed as a heritage site in December 1986.
