Dans la mythologie nordique, Bifrost est le pont arc-en-ciel<\/strong><\/b> qui relie Asgard (la maison des dieux) \u00e0 Midgard (la maison de l’humanit\u00e9). Le bifrost est compos\u00e9 de trois couleurs et il est si grand qu’il peut \u00eatre vu dans les neuf royaumes.<\/p>\n\n

La signification du nom Bifrost est incertaine, mais selon l’expert en langue nordique Dr. Jackson Crawford, il pourrait se traduire par \u00ab\u00a0le mile clignotant\u00a0\u00bb, ou \u00ab\u00a0le mile clignotant\u00a0\u00bb. Le pont a \u00e9t\u00e9 orthographi\u00e9 de deux mani\u00e8res l\u00e9g\u00e8rement diff\u00e9rentes. Dans l’Edda po\u00e9tique, le pont est orthographi\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0Bilr\u00f6st\u00a0\u00bb, et dans l’Edda en prose, il est orthographi\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0Bifr\u00f6st\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n

En vieux norrois, bifask signifie \u00ab\u00a0trembler\u00a0\u00bb et r\u00f6st \u00ab\u00a0mille\u00a0\u00bb. Cela signifie que si le nom du pont arc-en-ciel s’\u00e9crivait Bifr\u00f6st, il pourrait se traduire par \u00ab\u00a0le mille tremblant\u00a0\u00bb. En revanche, s’il est orthographi\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0Bilr\u00f6st\u00a0\u00bb comme dans l’Edda po\u00e9tique, il pourrait \u00eatre traduit par \u00ab\u00a0le mile clignotant\u00a0\u00bb ou \u00ab\u00a0le mile clignotant\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selon le Dr Jackson Crawford, \u00ab\u00a0bil\u00a0\u00bb signifie en vieux norrois \u00ab\u00a0moment ou \u00e9chec\u00a0\u00bb, d’apr\u00e8s l’un des noms d’Odin, \u00ab\u00a0Bileygr\u00a0\u00bb, qui signifie soit vacillant, soit clignant de l’\u0153il.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outre les deux noms Bifr\u00f6st et Bilr\u00f6st, le pont a \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 appel\u00e9 \u00c1sbr\u00fa (pont des Ases) dans l’Edda en prose de Snorri Sturluson.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

Le gardien de Bifrost<\/h2>\n\n

C’est le dieu Heimdall qui est le gardien du pont arc-en-ciel, et il est donc un symbole de la pr\u00e9servation du cosmos. Il est le lien de communication entre les dieux et d\u00e9esses et l’humanit\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n

Heimdall a probablement \u00e9t\u00e9 choisi pour remplir cette t\u00e2che importante en raison de son incroyable capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 voir \u00e0 des centaines de kilom\u00e8tres. Et si le temps est nuageux, Heimdall n’y verra que du feu, car il a aussi une ou\u00efe incroyable. En fait, il peut m\u00eame entendre la laine pousser sur le dos d’un mouton.<\/p>\n\n

Heimdall est \u00e9quip\u00e9 d’un cor nomm\u00e9 Gjallarhorn, ce qui signifie \u00ab\u00a0le cor qui crie\u00a0\u00bb ou \u00ab\u00a0le cor qui sonne fort\u00a0\u00bb. Ce cor peut \u00e9mettre un son si fort qu’il peut \u00eatre entendu dans tous les royaumes. Lors du Ragnar\u00f6k, c’est ce cor qui avertira tous les Ases que la guerre est sur le point de commencer. Ce sera \u00e9galement le jour o\u00f9 Bifrost sera d\u00e9truit.<\/p>\n\n

Si un j\u00f6tunn est assez stupide pour essayer d’attaquer Asgard ou de s’y faufiler, Heimdall peut compter sur son \u00e9p\u00e9e de confiance, Hofund. Mais il est tr\u00e8s peu probable qu’un j\u00f6tunn parvienne \u00e0 franchir le pont arc-en-ciel. En effet, le pont est toujours en feu, et il est si chaud qu’il brille toujours d’une lueur rouge.<\/p>\n\n
