Dans la mythologie nordique, Vili et V\u00e9 sont les deux fr\u00e8res du dieu Odin. Le nom Vili signifie (volont\u00e9) et V\u00e9 signifie (le saint).<\/p>\n\n

Les trois fr\u00e8res sont les fils de Bestla et Borr, et ils ont \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9lev\u00e9s dans le royaume de Niflheim, un endroit st\u00e9rile o\u00f9 il n’y a rien \u00e0 manger ou \u00e0 boire \u00e0 part le lait de la vache primitive Audhumbla.<\/p>\n\n

Au d\u00e9but des temps, lorsque seuls le pays du feu (Muspelheim) et le pays de la glace (Niflheim) avaient \u00e9t\u00e9 form\u00e9s \u00e0 partir du grand vide de Ginnungagap, les ressources \u00e9taient tr\u00e8s rares. Les trois dieux, Odin, Vili et V\u00e9, fatigu\u00e9s de voir le cupide j\u00f6tunn Ymir allong\u00e9 sur le dos toute la journ\u00e9e en buvant le lait chaud de la vache, d\u00e9cid\u00e8rent de le tuer.<\/p>\n\n

Une terrible bataille eut lieu, mais \u00e0 la fin, les fr\u00e8res furent victorieux. Ils utilis\u00e8rent les parties du corps d’Ymir pour cr\u00e9er les sept autres royaumes: Asgard, Midgard, J\u00f6tunheim, Vanaheim, Alfheim, Svartalfheim et Helheim.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

<\/p>\n\n

Comme le temps passait dans ce monde grand et vide, les trois dieux devaient s’ennuyer, et un jour qu’ils se promenaient ensemble sur la plage, ils trouv\u00e8rent deux arbres et d\u00e9cid\u00e8rent de les transformer en cr\u00e9atures vivantes.<\/p>\n\n

Ils devinrent les premiers humains de la mythologie nordique et s’appel\u00e8rent Ask et Embla. Odin leur donna la vie et le souffle, Vili leur donna la conscience et le mouvement, et V\u00e9 leur donna un visage, la parole, l’ou\u00efe et la vue.<\/p>\n\n

Vili et V\u00e9 sont probablement aussi appel\u00e9s H\u00f6nir (vieux norrois : H\u0153nir) et Lothur (vieux norrois : L\u00f3\u00f0urr), car la m\u00eame histoire, mais avec des noms diff\u00e9rents, est mentionn\u00e9e dans le po\u00e8me V\u00f6lusp\u00e1 de l’Edda po\u00e9tique.<\/p>\n\n

Selon Snorri Sturluson dans la saga Ynglinga, les deux fr\u00e8res d’Odin sont bri\u00e8vement les souverains d’Asgard, et ont notamment le droit de s’approprier sa femme Frigg, ce que Loki lui reproche dans le po\u00e8me Lokasenna.<\/p>\n\n
